阿列克塞（谢尔盖·贝泽鲁科夫 Sergei Bezrukov 饰）是一位非常有名的芭蕾舞演员，却在一次表演中身受重伤，不得不告别舞台。阿列克塞一生都将芭蕾舞表演视作是自己生命的支柱，因此这一重大变故给予了阿列克塞沉重的打击。 一晃眼二十年过去，阿列克塞的身体状况每况愈下，甚至很快就将会无法行走。然而，越是身陷低谷，阿列克塞就越是无法忘却对于芭蕾舞的热情。在这二十年中，阿列克塞一直都在设计一些难度非常高的芭蕾舞动作，现在，单纯的设计已经再也无法满足他了，他决定再度站上舞台，向病魔宣战。可是，阿列克塞要面对的并非生理上的痛楚这么单纯，他还要抵御周遭人的诋毁和怀疑。。孙大雷（李光洁 饰）和苏芸（赵子琪 饰）相恋多年，却依旧逃不脱离婚的命运。离婚之后，两人的一双儿女由苏芸照顾。某日，苏芸得知自己由于工作的关系即将前往香港一年，无法照料孩子们，而在这个节骨眼上，本应该承担抚养责任的孙大雷居然懦弱的退缩了。 苏芸的男友黄新华（高亚麟 饰）接手照料起了两个孩子，这一举动激起了孙大雷的好胜心，他决定同这个男人一决高下。然而，从来没有带过孩子的孙大雷不仅惹出了许多的麻烦和笑话，还在误会之中同儿女产生了矛盾，看着孩子们心中的天平渐渐向踏实可靠的黄新华倾斜而去，孙大雷的心里只能干着急。。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
